A bit about Gabi

I’ve pondered writing for quite some time now since I was a young child and told that I had an extraordinary  sense of imagination. Like most of us I thought no not me and yet still hung on to this notion in the back of my mind.   So here I am trusting and stepping out into the unknown world of words and thoughts.  I’ve had no formal training just a desire and a whisper into my soul that says I can  do all things….with His leading and enablement of Grace.

I  began my journey with Jesus at the age of 21 while attending a Billy Graham crusade in Canada.  I then started attending church but somehow stumbled off course with a lack of discipleship or mentoring.  At 21 I knew  nothing about the Christian life and continued to do things my way for quite some time but somehow God still had His finger on the pulse of my life.  I met my husband, we were married and 2 years later had our daughter Ashlea.  In the delivery room I made God a promise – to raise Ashlea in the church and recommit my life to Him.

I’ve been married for 26 years to a wonderful godly man who is my best friend and biggest fan.  He challenges me to be my best me and supports every silly whim I’ve entertained him with.  He’s incredibly generous, loving and hardworking and I can’t imagine my life without him.  He loves God, has honour and integrity and still makes my heart skip a beat at inopportune moments.  His name is James Andrew but I call him Jim.  Over and above the lover of my soul – the One who knows me at the forming in my mama’s womb….my husband is the mate for my soul who God sent at my asking.

As I mentioned in my post I live in the hot deserts of Dubai amongst 150 different nationalities and cultures where there are many challenges of living in the Middle East.  I hope to include some of them in my future writing.  We are allowed to go to church here and so there is a tolerance for other religions.  However, we may not openly witness or evangelise publicly.  There are some things we have to contend with, in all of it though God has blessed this region and its inhabitants richly!

So that’s just a bit about me!  I so look forward to getting to know all of you as we explore the wanderings our Heavenly Father has prepared for each of us and how we navigate Life together. 💕
